Transformation Systems Inc.

TSI is an executive strategies and management systems engineering firm helping organizations in all market sectors achieve bold goals in ways that are faster, leaner and more profitable. TSI’s trim, multidisciplinary teams are recognized experts in industrial engineering, work psychology, lean six sigma, strategic planning, performance measurement, mediation and organizational design. A virtual company with negligible turnover, TSI culture is based on mutual respect and relentless learning.

TSI is a thriving organization. Last year, it ranked in the top half of Inc 5000’s Fastest Growing Companies in America. Its CEO, Marta C. Wilson, was recognized by the Washington Business Journal as one of the 25 leading business women in the DC Metropolitan area because she achieved uncommon business growth alongside her substantial community service in 2009.

TSI has enjoyed years of steady growth by relying on the same strategic disciplines it offers its clients, and it is also committed to its role as impeccable community citizen through service. That commitment to serve clients and community starts at the top. While guiding her company’s growth, Marta C. Wilson also serves as Vice Chair of the Virginia Association of Nonprofit Organizations (VANNO). In 2009 she was an active member of the Northern Virginia Technology Council, the Virginia Council of CEOs, the Virginia Society of Association Executives, the Association for Corporate Growth, and the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce Chairman’s Circle.

Everyone at TSI promotes vibrant leadership both in client organizations and in employee neighborhoods. Tapping its professional know-how for the region’s communities, TSI launched a “Feed to Lead” initiative to fight hunger of body, mind and spirit. The idea is that individuals who are preoccupied with physical, intellectual and spiritual needs cannot break out of survival mode and begin to lead communities forward. The program is growing.

In 2009 “Feed to Lead” involved volunteer work at food banks and almost $10,000 of donations and grants to pay membership dues for hunger-based organizations seeking counsel, support and advocacy through the VANNO. In 2010 TSI is partnering with the Equal Footing Foundation (formerly the NVTC Foundation) to help children become the next generation of community leaders by providing school supplies and backpacks in the fall.

The “Feed to Lead” initiative galvanizes the energies of employees, strategic partners, service providers and clients through TSI’s “Virtual Community Help Day,” which gathers online commitments to volunteer by a specific day. The Virtual Community Help Day also showcases the cutting-edge view of TSI – that new technologies can deepen traditional communities and, through local collaboration, address global problems like hunger and economic downturns.

TSI employees are thought leaders within their industries, and many are so committed to disseminating knowledge the company has its own publishing and media support. A prolific writer, the CEO, Marta C. Wilson, has authored many leadership articles and books, including The Transformation Desktop Guide, Live A Difference, and, most recently, Leaders in Motion: Winning the Race for Organizational Health, Wealth and Creative Power. Through 2009 and 2010, Wilson used her publications to reach out to the region’s business communities, speaking to groups struggling in the economic times. With the message of empowerment summarized by the principles of TSI, she offered a message of encouragement to collaborate locally to compete globally.

“At TSI we seek leaders who aim to achieve tomorrow results they can barely imagine today. We help them to imagine more than they could alone and to achieve bold goals with our support. That’s why I think of TSI as imagination specialists.”
